September

Es ist September und damit Zeit, auf Herbst umzuschalten - das gilt natürlich auch für Websites ;) Darum habe ich meine "Rund ums Jahr in Deutschland"-Site auch entsprechend gestaltet - dieses Mal mit Grafiken von Julia.

It is September and therefore it's time to switch to autumn - this applies also to websites ;) That is why I changed my "Around the Year in Germany"-Site accordingly - this time with graphics by Julia.

Lackbilder - Poetry Album Pictures

Ich dachte, es gäbe sie gar nicht mehr, die romantischen Lackbilder, die wir früher in unsere Poesiealben geklebt haben. Heute gibt es ja fast nur noch Klebebilder. Diese hier habe ich in einem Laden auf der Insel Mainau gefunden und als kleine Geschenke für unsere armenischen Patenmädchen gekauft.

I thought they didn’t exist any more, the romantic pictures which we used to add to the verses in our poetry albums when I was a child. Today you usually only get stickers. However, I found these in a shop on the Isle of Mainau and bought them as gifts for our sponsored girls in Armenia.

Es ist Zeit... - It's Time...

Da bin ich wieder :) Nach mehr als einem Monat Abwesenheit von diesem Blog wird es ja langsam Zeit. Ich habe auch schon wieder einige schöne Dinge gesammelt, die ich euch hier nach und nach zeigen werde. Zunächst ein wunderbares Lied aus einem meiner liebsten Musicals, „My Fair Lady“ – natürlich in der Version von 1964 mit Audrey Hepburn und Rex Harrison :)

Here I am again :) After having been absent from this blog for more than one month it is time to return. During the past weeks I have “collected” some beautiful things which I would like to present to you here by and by. Gretna Green Webcam / Blogpause - Blog Break

Kürzlich habe ich auf Simones Blog gesehen, dass es in Gretna Green eine Webcam gibt, auf der man Hochzeiten live verfolgen kann – falls gerade eine stattfindet ;)

So, und jetzt werde ich in diesem Blog erst einmal eine kreative Pause von mehreren Wochen einlegen, etwa bis Ende August – immerhin ist Sommer ;) Ich hoffe, meine treuen Leser bleiben mir trotzdem erhalten. Wer während dieser Zeit etwas von mir lesen möchte, kann mein Alltags-Blog und / oder mein christliches Blog besuchen. Auf diesen Blogs werde ich während dieser Zeit nur kürzere Pausen einlegen.

Recently I found on Simone’s blog a link to a webcam in Gretna Green where you can watch weddings – in case there is one taking place while you are watching ;)

Now it is time for a “creative break” of several weeks on this blog, until about the end of August – after all, it is summer ;) I hope that my faithful readers will not leave me in spite of that. If you like to read blog posts by me during that time, please visit my everyday blog and /or my Christian blog. On these blogs I will only take short breaks .

Sommerkleider-Kollektion - Summer Dress Collection

Dies sind meine Sommerkleider – wie man unschwer sieht, liebe ich lange Kleider für den Sommer. Das ist wesentlich angenehmer bei großer Hitze, als „fast nichts“ anzuhaben!

These are my summer dresses – as you can see I prefer long dresses for the summer. This feels much better in the heat than wearing “almost nothing”!

Bollywood

Eines unserer armenischen Patenmädchen hat uns geschrieben, dass sie indische Filme (also Bollywood *s*) gerne sieht. Da ich mich mit diesem Genre bisher noch nicht so sehr beschäftigt hatte, obwohl diese Filme ja wohl international sehr beliebt sind, musste ich das jetzt doch wenigstens einmal tun und zwar über YouTube. Gefunden habe ich unter anderem „Bride and Prejudice“ – und natürlich ist der Name für den Film kein Zufall, wie man auch unschwer im Trailer sieht ;)

One of our sponsored girls in Armenia wrote to us that she likes to watch Indian movies (Bollywood, of course *s*). As I had not known much about this movie genre until now, even though they seem to be very popular all over the world, of course now I had to become at least a little acquainted with them – with the help of YouTube. Among others I found “Bride and Prejudice”, and this title for the movie is no coincidence as you can easily see when watching the trailer ;)

Theaterkostüme - Theatre Costumes

Am letzten Freitag waren Hermann und ich im Theater, besser gesagt, in der Naturbühne Steintäle in Fridingen – zugegeben, nicht gerade international bekannt, aber trotzdem hervorragend. Das Stück „Der dreimal tote Peter“ spielt in Frankreich zur Zeit des „Sonnenkönigs“ Ludwig XIV. (der auch in einer Szene dabei ist). Entsprechend mussten natürlich auch die Kostüme gefertigt werden. Dies wird im Falle des Theaters Steintäle offenbar mit viel Liebe zum Detail maßgeblich von einer mittlerweile 78jährigen Frau erledigt. Ich fand die Kostüme jedenfalls hinreißend und darum wollte ich euch die Schönsten von ihnen nicht vorenthalten!

Last Friday Hermann and I watched a play in an amateur theatre. The play was located in France during the era of Louis XIV who also appears in one scene. The costumes had to be created accordingly and for this little theatre that is done by a lady who is 78 years old meanwhile – in my opinion she did a marvelous job and that’s why I’m showing you the most beautiful costumes here!
