Sommerkleider-Kollektion - Summer Dress Collection

These are my summer dresses – as you can see I prefer long dresses for the summer. This feels much better in the heat than wearing “almost nothing”!

Last Friday Hermann and I watched a play in an amateur theatre. The play was located in France during the era of Louis XIV who also appears in one scene. The costumes had to be created accordingly and for this little theatre that is done by a lady who is 78 years old meanwhile – in my opinion she did a marvelous job and that’s why I’m showing you the most beautiful costumes here!

Grease

This movie was made by the end of the 70s, but it shows the 50s, and as I am a huge fan of the 50s fashion I particularly like it :)

Abendkleid - Evening Dress

Yesterday I played around a little with my wedding dress – without the overgown with the train. I would very much like to wear it as an evening dress on special occasions, but as the color looks too much like a wedding dress I have to think how to make it look more colorful. Therefore I tried the two shawls and I think it does not look too bad with them. Of course, for an actual Regency Ball a cream colored or even a white dress would be perfectly appropriate, as in that era women wore white to a ball rather than to their wedding, but I’m afraid in our remote part of the world events like these hardly ever happen :( Therefore I have to wait for other opportunities to wear the dress!

Brautkleid - Wedding Dress

Today I would like to show my wedding dress to you – at least to those of you who haven’t seen it already ;) The dress is a tribute to Jane Austen, and my dream to own such a dress was fulfilled by my friend Gisela (the lady on the photo) who sewed it using a pattern by Burda. If you like to see more of the dress and the wedding, please visit our wedding site :)
